Motorhome CARB Compliance

Motorhome Clean Truck Check Testing

CARB Compliance Testing for Diesel Motorhomes in the Inland Empire

Many motorhome owners are surprised to learn that certain RVs in California must now participate in the CARB Clean Truck Check program. If you own a diesel motorhome, you may need CARB compliance testing to keep your vehicle registered and legally operating in California.

At IE CARB Clean Truck Check, we offer convenient emissions compliance testing for diesel motorhomes and RVs throughout the Inland Empire, including San Bernardino, Riverside, Redlands, Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, Fontana, and surrounding communities.

Our goal is to make the Clean Truck Check process simple and stress-free so you can focus on enjoying your travels.

Which Motorhomes Require Clean Truck Check?

Your diesel motorhome may require CARB compliance testing if it meets the following conditions: • Diesel powered • 2013 model year or newer • Over 14,000 pounds GVWR These vehicles fall under California's Heavy Duty Inspection and Maintenance (HD I/M) Program, also known as the Clean Truck Check Program. If your motorhome qualifies, periodic emissions compliance testing is required to remain compliant with California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations.

What Happens During a Clean Truck Check?

The Clean Truck Check process is typically quick and straightforward, making it an essential part of CARB compliance testing. This testing involves connecting to the vehicle’s onboard diagnostic system to verify emissions system performance.

The test confirms that:

• Emissions systems are functioning correctly

• The vehicle is not reporting emissions faults

• The vehicle is compliant with CARB reporting requirements

Once completed, the results are electronically reported to CARB, ensuring that diesel motorhomes maintain their compliance.

Mobile Motorhome Testing Available

We understand that moving a large diesel motorhome or diesel pusher to a testing location can be inconvenient. That’s why we offer mobile CARB compliance testing services throughout the Inland Empire. Our Clean Truck Check services can come directly to: • RV storage facilities • Your home or property • Fleet yards • Dealerships or service centers Mobile testing makes it easy to stay compliant without interrupting your travel plans.

Can You Test a Motorhome With a Check Engine Light?

Yes, testing can still be performed if a check engine light is present; however, there are no guarantees the vehicle will pass. In most cases, a check engine light indicates an emissions system issue that should be diagnosed and repaired before undergoing CARB compliance testing or a Clean Truck Check, particularly for diesel motorhomes.
